Pyjamas and Dandelion

有些单词是非常常用的单词，但是我们却不知道。比如: Pyjamas 和 Dandelion. Pyjamas 有另外一个拼法，pajamas，Pyjamas是英式拼法。这两天岳父岳母在公园里发现了很多野生的蒲公英，它的单词就是dandelion. 用新鲜的蒲公英叶子做菜吃别有一番风味，晒干后的蒲公英叶子用来做酱牛肉，那个味道香啊。相信有些人一辈子也没有吃过这样的野菜。新鲜的蒲公英叶子略带苦味，炒熟或者用开水焯过之后就会去掉。小时候爸爸告诉过我，蒲公英的叶子可以养蚕，可惜我们家附近的蒲公英不是很多，桑树也不是很多。我养的蚕有时候就会饿肚子，想一想太惨忍了。

IE 8

One of our workmates got below issues with IE 8.
“Installing IE8 causes many incoming emails to take 30-40 seconds to open. This only affects staff with the full Lotus Notes client and not the iNotes users.”
This morning when I updated to IE 8, my system has been crushed. But after restarted, it is OK.

Google Chrome – Ctrl + 1

Just found this shortcut when I tried to edit my google spreadsheet file. Use Ctrl + a number you can to go that Tab in Chrome. Their order starts from lefthand side. Accroding to some news today, Google Chrome only has 1.15% market share in Feb 09. Mozilla Firefox has more than 21.77%. (Net Applications). It seems Google Chrome still has a long way to reach it’s real  target - the real target is the very core of Microsoft – Windows and Office (Net Applications).

天语手机 PhoneSuite 的应用 – 电话簿导出导入

在国产手机或者是山寨手机中，天语可以算作后起之秀，长江之后浪。越来越多的人开始使用天语手机，俺们家由90年代的Nokia系列转战了好几个系列后开始使用天语Benephone，起初是我那位的B922，到父亲和弟弟以及弟媳妇的，都开始使用天语手机了。这不，丈母娘也开始使用我们退役下来的天语了。手机多了之后，电话簿的导出和导入便成了一个问题。网上都在讲PhoneSuite在天语手机上的应用，可是直到今天才发现一个关于如何安装软件和连接手机的帖子。

原来，在新出的天语手机中已经自带了PhoneSuite的软件，大约8.74 MB，解压缩后大约20.4 MB。B922没有带，但是到了E60就有。网上有很多地方可以下载到这个PhoneSuite v1.03，所以这里就不再提供下载，主要来讲一下如何连接手机。除了这个PhoneSuite还需要一个叫做usb2ser_2kXP.inf的驱动程序，也会和手机一起附送。在连接手机的时候记住要选择“序列接口”或者“数据接口”，电脑会把它当作是一个Modem来设置，当连接手机并选择“序列接口”后，请选择手动安装，找到usb2ser_2kXP.inf的存储位置进行安装。安装完成后，打开PhoneSuite的程序，在设置中选择最后一个端口或者是其他连接手机的端口，然后回到电话簿的选项卡上，你牛可以看到一个提示说要不要下载电话簿。同意后就可以下载手机中的所有电话簿了。然后你需要导出备份到电脑硬盘，然后断开手机。插入新手机后，使用USB连接，然后将存在硬盘中的通讯录拷贝到新手机，在新手机中的电话簿功能下应该就可以恢复电话簿到新手机了。

Windows XP Scheduled Tasks

When you set up XP “Scheduled Tasks”, make sure you have a non-blank password for the user name you will use. Otherwise your scheduled task will not run as you wish. Windows will warn you access denied. I have used XP for so many years but I never used scheduled task successfully until today. I am sure a lot of people just don’t know how to use it as me.

Seagate FreeAgent Go Portable Drive 500G

Just ordered “FreeAgent Go Portable Drive 500G” for the same day delivery from our supplier. It is supposed to give to my wife as a gift for valentine day. Seems too late then. Feel sorry for this. Anyway, it is pretty just like all other Seagate products. I have a FreeAgent External 500G HDD at home, it works excellent. This Seagate portable HDD was even cheaper than other Toshiba and Verbatim portable HDDs.

偶然间看到闫严以前在悉尼大学上学用过的草写本上写的一句诗词，“墙内秋千墙外道，墙外行人墙内佳人笑”，所以将整首词重温一遍。不过闫少写的是墙内而不是墙里。最后一句，他写的是“多情总被无情恼”，而不是却。

Below is the email from one of my collegue, there is simple word for me to learn.

“Haha Dad has been nagging me to do the budgets all week so I finally finished that. But I should be able to do some other stuff during the tomorrow.

I won’t be having a wild one. I cancelled on going out tonight with friends and then I have a friend’s birthday thing tomorrow night. Shouldn’t be too bad.

I would love to but I don’t think I’ll be up to it this weekend. Maybe some other time. But I’ll warn you now, I’m terrible at table tennis! I play tennis so I’m not used to a small racquet and small court! So I either swing and miss or whack it off the table! Lol.”

DVD-RAM

恕本人孤陋寡闻，知道今天才听说DVD-RAM。普通的DVD只能有大约5年左右的寿命，可是DVD-RAM却像硬盘一样方便读写和稳定。不过DVD-RAM没有像普通DVD-RW那么普遍是因为读写器和盘片都比较贵。

Bit Torrent Error – File missing

Very frustrated if this happen as you have finished more than half of a very big file downloading. Solution for this is copy your downloaded files to a different folder and remove torrent file. Then open or redownload the same torrent file and save to the folder you copied files. After “Force Recheck” you will see the percentage finished before.
