You are currently browsing the monthly archive for April, 2008.
According to Reuters 23/04/2008, now in Australia, “The underlying inflation rate is the highest in 17 years – excluding the 2001 blip created by the GST start, Reuters reported.” The high interest rate and high inflation rate would make a lot of people suffer, but it also provide me enough time to make some deposit before the date when some claimed to have interest rate reduced until probably April 2009.
Referring to SMH.com.au 23/04/2008, “The Australian dollar surged to the highest since 1984 after a government report showed consumer prices rose at the fastest annual pace in seven years, spurring speculation the central bank may resume raising interest rates.” Currently the Australian dollar reached to 95.17 US cents, which is the highest since March 1984.
Anyway, we have to wait to see in the future.
A very good tool to take notes in your windows. It is free and useful. Just wanna recommend it. The website to down load it is http://finiteloop.org/~btaylor/notable/
I also found another good website for PDF books sharing. Innobook, http://innobook.cn/book-pbrand which is a Chinese website based on WordPress platform. Very good practice to use free resources. It uses http://www.box.net/ and Google Code to save those files and docs. I have not tried Good Code yet. Really enjoy to have those goodies and free resources.
Feel a little bit dispressed because my WordPress cannot use image at this moment. Maybe because svchost is cancelled in my system.
Песня о буревестнике,这是海燕之歌的俄语,为了考证它的原意,我查阅了WordLingo的俄英解释,翻译成英文是:Song about the stormy petrel。
The storm-petrels are seabirds in the family Hydrobatidae, part of the order Procellariiformes. These smallest of seabirds feed on planktonic crustaceans and small fish picked from the surface, typically while hovering. The flight is fluttering and sometimes bat-like.
而海鸥,是欧形目,欧科,欧属,所以海鸥不是海燕。请参看下面的解释(百科探秘网http://bk.51player.com/view/15894.htm)

I have been to Wagga Wagga for two days study. Two of my friends and I drove there. It was pretty good living in campus and only cost me 124 for two days. All three meals were included. We ate well and enjoyed fruit, drink and dessert. It was very lucky for me to have a tutorial before I finish my assignment II for QBM117 – Business Statistics. We had received almost two days intensive training on statistics. What we learnt were Module 2 and Module 3. Totally we have 4 modules, that means we had went through about half of our subjects. I met about 20 of our classmates. Because it is long distance education we have little chance to meet our classmates as we all spread in many places. We have about 190 students enrolled this subject this semester. Anyway it was a very nice trip to Wagga Wagga. Attached is some photos we took.

The most interesting thing for is to measure my Honda Civic VTI’s Fuel Efficiency during this trip. Totally we have driven 925.6 km. Before we went, I filled my tank full and odometer read 13,132km. After we got back to home the odometer was 14,058km. I refilled my tank full in Wagga before we started our journey back. That was 31.49L. In Campsie refilled fully again with 28.11L petrol. So we have (31.49+28.11)/(14058-13132)=0.06439L/km. It is amazing to get this result 6.439L per 100 kilometers. As it shows me on the front window of my car 7.3L/100km, this result is pretty out my expectation. By the way my one is an automatic. We used cruise control most time in our trip. And most of our trip was motor way or highway with speed limit around 100km – 110km.
